Hi again...last question..lol.
Same car...2004 Tib I-4, 5-spd.
I see these resistor kits on ebay saying gains up to 20hp. Does this really
work? If so what size is the resistor that is used? I just can't justify
$4.00 for a resistor and $3.50 to ship it esp. when I probably have the
exact size resistor here with my pinball machine repair parts.
Well if anyone can help me out with any of these 3 questions I would
greatly appreciate it.
Thanks
Greg

TANSTAAFL: There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.

But $4 for a 2 cent resistor is a good markup for the seller.

Junk. Snake Oil. STAY AWAY!

The point of the resistor is to put it in parallel with the air temp or
coolant temp sensor, making the car "add" more fuel. One of two things
will happen. The car will go into closed loop anyway and adjust the fuel
as necessary to minimize harmful emissions, or the car won't go into
closed loop and the check engine lamp will come on because it's not in
closed loop.

If you really want performance, get a V6. It goes like a bat out of hell.

Thank you for the info. When I saw it a few months ago on ebay I figured it
might just mess the computer up in the car just did not look safe for the
system but as curious as I am I had to ask where people would know...Snake
oil it is. As for a V6 when I bought mine I thought about it hard but
driving about 75 miles a day between work, school, and home I opted for the
I-4.
Thanks again
Greg
