Timing belt hyundai sonata 2.0 GLS 2002

4 cylinder and 6 cylinder, both take a timing belt.
Personally, I hate timing belts.
To be forced to do 500 dollars to 1000 dollars of maintenance every few years is crazy.
Then if one doesn't change the belt then it could cost more to replace engine
Who thought up this crazy idea??
