Towing with the Santa Fe

Discussion in 'Hyundai Santa Fe' started by Tony Gonzalez, Aug 4, 2003.

  1. I would like to have a hitch installed on my 2001 Santa Fe GLS V6 AWD
in order to pull a 2000lb boat. Is there anybody who has any advice on
towing with the Santa Fe or what hitch I should buy and from where?
Does anyone have the dealer hitch installed on their vehicle?

    Thank You

    Tony

I put a DrawTite hitch on my '02 SF. Easy to do (bolts right
on) and I like the look. Only the receiver shows.

DrawTite make a good hitch, and their support is top notch.

There is a flaw in the hitch design, however.

There is one too few bolts on the right side and customer-made spacers are
required between the hitch and the late 2002 SF's frame, on both sides.

When I pointed this out to DrawTite's engineering department, they analyzed the
situation, confirmed my observations, and had prototype spacers made and
delivered to me by FedEx within three days.

This flaw may have been corrected on new stock.

  5. Thank you both for the feedback, I appreciate it. I'm going to check
    them out...
