Well we drove our new Santa Fe off the lot yesterday.
And today it wouldn't start. It's cold I admit --but this is a new car for
Pete's sake.
Anyways just called the dealership (where it's been towed)
and they are telling me that they'll call when they figure
out what the problem is but that alot of the 2004 santa fe's are having the
same problem.

Anybody else experience this?

I don't know how new is your car. But very new car (under 4000 miles)
have more problem to start in really cold temperature.
This is because the moving parts are not enough used.

This morning in Montreal, the temperature was -35C (-31 F)
and my Sonata 2004 manage to start....Ouf !

Well it's got less than 100 kilometers on it.
Maybe that's it.
We are not too far from Montreal here about 2hrs west of you.
The dealer is putting in a block heater and a new battery(free)...It has
been
sitting in the lot for a long while in the cold before we took it home
yesterday.
Hopefully after we get it back tommorow there are no more problems.

My Santa fe is 1 month old and hard to start but will at -22 here in
Toronto.I think they send these cars here with oil that is to thick
for winter in Canada. I will change to a 0w30 next week and see if it
helps.

problem.......hee hee hee

My sister bought a 2004 Sante fe on Thursday and Friday morning the car
would not start. We found out (after having to be picked up and lent a
hyundai accent while our brand new car was brought to the garage) that
hyundai had received a bad batch of relays which don't work in colder
weather. It is a manufacturing problem with the specific relay. If any
one knows where Hyundai buys trheir relays I would like to know if I
can order any (alibaba.com is a great site for finding manufactureres
of all sorts of products). The relay can be changed by simply popping
the hood and plugging it in. Thanx, and good luck to everyone with a

As the car is manufactured in Korea, my GUESS would be
some Korean outfit. Good luck in your search.

If you wanna buy a candy, you go to a candy store, not the candy
factory. And the manufacturer's name is on the candy wrapper...
