where besides dealer can I take Hyundai Elentra (99) to check codes?

The infamous "Check Engine" light came on. Probably a sensor or something.
Car runs fine. Who besides dealer has a meter to check the codes?
    Thanks!

Many of the major national parts stores (Pep Boys, Auto Zone, Advanced Auto
Parts) will read the codes for free on 96 and newer cars that use ODBC II.
    They
just plug a meter into a connector under your dash, start the car and read
    off
the codes. They may not necessarily know what the code refers to if its
    proprietary to the manufacturer.
