Wiper transmission

My daughter's windshield wipers on her 2008 Entourage stopped working during a snowstorm last year after I took off the cowl and the wiper arms I noticed that the nut had come loose and fell off the anchor for the transmission and motor after I resecured it .I found that it still did not work I took it apart once again I found the nut still tight and then I reseted everything again and still no luck any ideas

The motor could be burnt out??
