Now that is the most "Fair and balanced" statement I've read in this thread!
Are you employed by FOX news?
    LOL. ;c)

I saw it at the Detroit Auto Show and was impressed by the interior but
prefer the Azera's exterior. If it came down to the two I think I would
chose the Azera as it would be more than adequate for my needs and
probably 5k cheaper, although who knows what the price of the 6 cyl.
will be (perhaps equal to the Azera but that wouldn't make much
marketing sense to me. On the other hand I would also test drive the
    Genesis and then who knows????

Well jp thanks for the answer but my question was just a little sarcastic
question seeing as how the thread was getting a little off course of the
original question. I'm personally waiting for Hyundai to come out with a
super car the size of a 59' Caddy that only gets 3 1/2 miles to the gallon.
I of course cant afford the car let alone the gas for it but hell I dont
want to be the only person in the world thats not in debt up to my eyeballs.
I figured it out and my 34 room house will be paid for by the time my great
great great great grandson is about 137 years old but HELL I cant take it
with me and so far neither can he.

No it was not in jest as it has been mentioned on other message boards I
visit by the Moonbat Crowd....Another"catch phrase" the moonbats use
is"Rural Cleansing". I like to call them watermellons...Green on the
    outside,RED on the inside...

  5. Yeah, but you will be happy with the Sonata. Its V6 version is one of the
smoothest powerplants I have ever heard in a car. Plenty of power and
    beautiful to drive.

This is a car company that really needs to be watched. They seem to be
doing a lot of things right.

"Was you born stupid " says it all. As I said, "there are those of you out
    there with the 'I
can afford it so I'm going to get it' mindset " and this guy proves it. As
long as he exists, we are doomed to kissing the butts of
the Arabs to get fuel for his truck and suffer along with him. Stupid,
    stupid.

I've been to Europe many times and NEVER have I seen a pickup truck of the
size of the US version. Those workers get the job done and haul their tools
without a big truck. In fact, it is extremely rare to even see a small
pickup truck. They mainly use little panel trucks that work very well,
evidently. Point is that you don't NEED that F350 to haul a tool
    box................

I wondered when you were going to jump in, Matt.)

You're right that next step should be a Prius 'like' vehicle. I just can't
understand why Hyundai is going the other way. They've made diesels for
ever and certainly have the know-how.

The real point is that the Sonato, nor any other car sold in the US, is
capable of giving fuel mileage even close to what they should be giving. If
we got off our butts and put diesels in all our cars, large and small, we
would probably be oil independent given the 35% improvement in fuel economy
that diesels are capable of giving. Three Chicago Wolf is right on and
benick is hopelessly entrenched in his own little world to ever see out into
the real world and recognize where his offspring will be in 20 years. His
group's legacy to them is what is dooming all our children.

The opinions of the group??? The group consists of three ' I can afford it,
so I'll buy it' frequent visitors who I knew when I originally posted would
come jumping into the mire. I was really sickened last night when I saw an
ad for a hybrid Navigator (or other behemoth). Now THAT is really
STUPID............. and shows what car companies think of the consumer
mentality. Just because Matt and Mike and benick (???) think big is better,
I guess it is a foregone conclusion that it must be true. Take a trip to
Europe and see how even BIG people like benick get around without huge cars.

Wow, now we have Rob chiming in with another "I can afford it, so I'll buy
it, you tree hugger' comment!!!.................... I'm not a tree hugger.
I'm just realistic about the future for my children if you people keep
buying large cars and trucks that force the rest of us to retaliate out of
safety concerns to get equally big cars to survive impacts with your
behemoths. I also am tired of no one putting pressure on the government to
actually do something substantial to improve mileage and encourage the
manufacture of truly small cars while at the same time, aggressively
eliminating the incentives to buy huge cars. I've actually written to all
my Congressmen outlining the problem and offering several solutions, both
short term and long term. Have any of you 'squanders'? Would you continue
to buy or keep your huge truck or car if you had to pay a yearly penalty of
2% of your adjusted gross income? I don't think even Al Gore would like
that. It would make you finally see the light that you don't NEED that huge
vehicle and there are alternatives. That would free up the highways and
allow we sane folk to buy the small cars we want to buy and create a demand
that the auto industry would gladly fill.

Benick keeps referring to Al Gore. Benick, have you ever watched Al Gore's
'Inconvenient Truth' and comprehended what he was outlining for you? Or did
you just take someone's word that it was a bunch of tree-hugging bum dope?

There you go!!! My point exactly! Thanks, Finn, for showing everyone that
we cannot buy a 'sane' sized vehicle as long as people keep driving huge
    cars....

Well, Mike, you have also bolstered my position that we will never progress
until we can buy and drive small cars and feel safe. That will not happen
until we outlaw, out-legislate, or out-tax the huge vehicles from our roads.
In the meantime, we are mired in the indecision and nearsightedness so
evident on this board and in our society.

There's the Mike I know and love!) Right to the point.
Well, I own a 07 Sonata so I guess that's your 'cheap piece of junk' you're
talking about. Oh, that's right, you own one too! I want very, very much
to buy a smaller car but as I said many times, I was forced to buy something
reasonably able to survive a crash with 'benick's' wasteful, useless truck.
The 'plight of my life' is that I'm retired with a sizeable sum in the banks
plus Vanguard Funds and living quite well with cars in the garage and food
in the fridge. Don't worry about me. I'll make it. Worry about your
children and grandchildren. They are the ones getting screwed by you
    people.

Wow, I was waiting for the mini-gun version. I love the sight of those
tracers tearing things up. Throw in a couple of Bofors as optional
equipment and I'll take it - if it gets 45 mpg.
